Rio, with its glorious golden beaches, is the starting point for our month-long journey to the Bolivian altiplano. Heading south down the stunning Brazilian coastline, we call in at intriguing pirate towns and sub-tropical islands, visit the awe-inspiring falls at Iguazu and kick back and relax in Uruguayan hot springs. Then it's on to the pulsating metropolis of Buenos Aires before heading north across rolling Argentinean grasslands towards the beautifully preserved city of Salta. Bolivia is our next stop, and as we travel across the country, we'll enjoy a trip out onto the salt flats and a journey through the Bolivian jungle before rounding our trip off in the lofty city of La Paz.
